It's Vista Marina's Time!
Jesus said to his disciples: "...I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it." (Mt. 16:18, NLT) Friends, we are seeing Jesus' words in action. He is building His Church, and nobody can stop it.
Sixteen years ago, when we first got to Mexico, we planted a small congregation in a Colonia called "Vista Marina," a few miles south of Rosarito. In the years since, many of our stateside friends and churches have helped us share Jesus and strengthen this work through countless outreaches, prayers and personal visits.
The colonia has recently experienced explosive growth, and now contains families from all over Latin America. The newcomers are often provided very rudimentary housing, but jobs are hard to come by, so these people live in need. In a very real sense, Vista Marina has become a mission field of its own, with our church right in the middle!
All these years, the congregation itself has been meeting in the driveway of a local family, and they've managed to get by—but pastors Angel and Vene Trujillo tell us that the lack of space has made things difficult. Well, things are about to change! In the middle of all this, property close by became available for purchase, and a dear friend put up the money! And as of late March, $25k has already been given so we could build the first floor! And THANKS to you who responded so quickly! We see this as the hand of God, preparing His people, telling us all that it's time to increase our witness here, to lift up Jesus so that all will be drawn to Him! (Jn. 12:32)
Alright, so you may be wondering: "What can I do?"
Answer: First, we're looking for PRAYER WARRIORS who will keep the project, the pastors and people of the Vista Marina church before the throne of God. Second, we're asking for TEAMS to come and help us build somewhere between late July and late October; and yes, we're already seeking more FUNDS... to add a second story, so that the youth and children's ministries can have their own space.
The church in Vista Marina is ready to become a true base for evangelism and care, becoming Jesus' hands and feet in this needy community. It's Vista Marina's time—which means it's our time too! Will you join us?

In addition to enabling and carrying out ministry in Vista Marina, the Godwins operate the Bible school they founded in 2020 for English-speaking people in Mexico. They also travel around Mexico carrying out ministry assignments as needed.
